Senior Software Engineer
Salary: £55,000
Cereus Ultrasonics Ltd. is an early-stage company, just three years old and based in Poole, Dorset, UK. Our first product is a ground-breaking downhole Ultrasonic well inspection tool for the oil and gas industry that has shown fantastic results in the first two real-world trials. The first version is scheduled to launch later this year, with a further two variants of the technology planned utilising our ‘Cereus Engine’. After this first industrial phase, the company is planning to introduce this ground-breaking ultrasonic and acoustic solution into other industrial sectors, with specific interest already generated for applications in medical and defence.
The technology used within Cereus Ultrasonics is based on novel and advanced acoustic techniques, much of which is the culmination of many years of R&D undertaken by current Cereus Ultrasonics’ engineers working within the naval industry for sonar systems.
We now have an exciting, permanent position open for a Senior Software Engineer with all-round capabilities, but with some specific requirements.
The post involves the downloading of acoustic and non-acoustic data, processing and displaying the data in line graphs, heatmaps and selected sections as an interactive 3D image, all within a self-contained GUI with the ability to reformat the data to an industry format. Many of these elements are currently in place as an engineering package, however with the next phase of the downhole tool programme, a more end-user focussed solution is required to support our coming ultrasonic tools.
