Salary: £ 25-30,000 depending on experience

Cereus Ultrasonics Ltd. is an early-stage company, started in 2019 and based in Poole, Dorset, UK.  Our first product is a ground-breaking downhole Ultrasonic well inspection tool for the oil and gas industry.  The first version successfully launched early in 2022, with a further two variants of the technology planned utilising our ‘Cereus Engine’.  After this first industrial phase, the company is planning to introduce these ground-breaking ultrasonic and acoustic solutions into other industrial sectors, with specific interest already generated for applications in medical and defence.

All applications using ultrasonic and acoustic transducers can benefit from the ‘Cereus Engine’.

The technology used within Cereus Ultrasonics is based on novel and advanced acoustic techniques, much of which is the culmination of many years of R&D undertaken by current Cereus Ultrasonics’ engineers working within the naval industry for sonar systems.

We now have an exciting, permanent position open for an Electro-Acoustic Technician with all-round capabilities, but with some specific requirements.

The role:

The role of Electronics Technician will be based at the Poole office in Dorset, UK and will include:

Acoustic testing of transducers and acoustic systems using novel acoustic techniques.

The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic attitude towards learning new skills and being a key member of a small specialist team, working to grow the future of this company on various ground-breaking projects in new industrial areas and applications.

The main tasks will be setting up and conducting acoustic experiments, general wiring, board assembly and some general office tasks.

The candidate will provide some training to external personnel on our downhole tools. This is an infrequent task and may involve some travel. Other tasks will include involvement in Health and Safety tasks and general lab management.

Ideally, the candidate will have BTEC ONC or HNC or equivalent qualifications.

  • Familiar with MS Office products

The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic attitude towards being a key member of a small specialist team, working to grow the future of this company on various ground-breaking projects in new industrial areas and applications. They will also be able to work legally from our office in Poole, Dorset, UK.  There may be occasional short periods of working in other areas, both in the UK and abroad.

Skills Desired

Some knowledge of acoustic systems.
