In January 2025, Cereus Ultrasonics logged the casing in the Ullrigg 7 test well, at NORCE, Norway.
In October 2025, we returned to log it again, but this time, with tubing in place.
.. and it went quite well!
Analysing the data with our standard engineering software, showed that the acoustics generated by the Cereus Engine provides visibility of casing position relative to the tubing.
Note eccentricity between tubing and casing:

This is crucial for casing wall thickness and TTCBL because it allows us to place the time window to evaluate the pulse energy containing the casing thickness and cement bond information.
Early analysis gives a great indication that we’re on the right track to producing a commercial TTCBL product, showing that artefacts visible without the tubing in place, are clear WITH the tubing in place.

Other well artefacts are also detectable, including casing and tubing joints and tubing-casing centralisers:

… and the best part?
The current, v1.1 Nusonix tool will be capable of TTCBL with a minor recalibration.
This is because original Nusonix tool design focus was to ensure that it had the best acoustic capabilities in the world, which enables great things to be done.
Great quality signals, provides flexible data solutions.
If you’d like become one of the first to run TTCBL for your customers, please get in touch.
